Windlass Anchor Chain - Grade 43 High Test
G-4 windlass chain is specifically designed for anchoring systems for boats and other marine equipment. The chain is attached to the anchor windlass machine, which raises and lowers the anchor on a ship with a chain cable. Windlass chains may also be used on other marine equipment, such as fishing trawls.
G-4 (or grade 43) windlass chains have shorter links than other types of chains, which provide extra flexibility.
You can buy a G-4 winless chain in two styles:
- Stainless Steel (Type 316)
- Hot Dipped Galvanized
Stainless steel windlass chain is more resistant to rust, making it ideal for use near water. However, it has a lower breaking point than the galvanized chain. Hot dipped galvanized windlass chain is coated in molten zinc, which provides an extra coating to increase durability and strength.
